On December 9, Mahtomedi Community Education hosted its Winter Community Lunch at the District Education Center. Over 50 people came to enjoy food, listen to music, and spend time together as a community.
The Mahtomedi Middle School Glee Club (grades 6-8) joined the luncheon to provide festive music for the guests. Mahtomedi Adventure Club (grades K-5) helped create winter-themed decorations. Young adults in the school district’s Passages Transition Program (ages 18-22) helped set up the lunch, pass out food, and clean up afterward.
This event demonstrates how community education and its programs can make an impact by bringing people together to share their skills and talents. By serving others at this event, Mahtomedi students are able to give back and experience the impact of helping others and making important connections with our community members.
The next community lunch will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at the District Education Center. Registration is open at Mahtomedi Eleyo.
