Ashland Theater welcomes third through fifth-grade students to join its upcoming production of PRESS START. Rehearsals start next month at O. H. Anderson Elementary School.
Each student is guaranteed a speaking part and stage time for the entire performance - plus, according to Ashland Theater’s Youth Programming Director Jack Lambert, “tons and tons and tons of cool songs and dances.”
Former O. H. Anderson student Anna Martinson will direct the production. She now has a degree in theatre from Viterbo University.
For students who might enjoy working behind the scenes, tech rehearsals will take place at Maplewood Community Center Theater.
Ashland Theater’s PRESS START promotional video is available on YouTube.
Jack Lambert noted that the production is for kids who want to have fun and make friends along the way. “One of the best parts is it’s a community thing,” he said. “It’s super inclusive.”
Registration for student participation is open at Mahtomedi Eleyo.
