Adult community members in front of the Spoonbridge sculpture in Minneapolis

Recently Mahtomedi Community Education hosted a “Minneapolis Experience” day trip to the Walker Sculpture Garden and lunch at Brit’s Pub. “These trips offer wonderful opportunities for adults in our community to socialize, stay active, and engage with fellow community members,” said Adult Enrichment Coordinator Diana Wright.

At the Walker Sculpture Garden participants admired over 60 sculptures across 11 scenic acres, including the iconic ‘Spoonbridge and Cherry’ landmark in the heart of Minneapolis.

After exploring Walker Sculpture Garden the group headed to Brit’s Pub for a catered buffet lunch on the restaurant’s popular rooftop patio. Brit’s Pub is known as Minneapolis’s own corner of the UK with its British-inspired food and drinks, lawn bowling on the patio, and rugby and soccer screenings.

Registration fees for the day trip covered the museum tour, lunch, and transportation. Wright says day trips like this are “a great way to get out and explore without the stress of doing all the planning on your own.” Participants can enjoy new experiences and places without having to worry about planning logistics, driving, or parking.

Mahtomedi Community Education hosts many day trips like this one throughout the year. There is still room to register for the upcoming trip to the St. Paul Saints baseball game on July 24! The registration fee includes transportation and game tickets.

In addition to day trips, check out the rest of Mahtomedi Community Education’s

adult classes and offerings. There are lots of fun and enriching opportunities to come throughout July and August!
