Middle School Summer Band Camps

All 5th graders who registered for 6th grade Band at Mahtomedi Middle School are strongly encouraged to take part in this exciting summer opportunity. This camp is also for any students who are starting an instrument for the first time.

Students will work with a professional musician and teacher to learn the basics of their instrument, including: instrument care/assembly, proper posture/hand placement, warm-up skills, reading notes/rhythms, and breath support. These sessions will be used to prepare your student for playing on their first day of band class!

Middle School Band Lessons - School Year

The district partners with qualified professional instructors to offer private lessons as a valuable extension of the band experience. These lessons provide the individualized attention needed to help each musician reach their full potential. Scheduling is flexible and designed to easily fit into each student's routine.
